The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was published in 2001. The series involved bright colored books with a pair of flare jeans. Still being a popular book for young girls, I decided to give the dated cover a rebrand.
For the design concept I landed on creating four different books that emphasized the jeans, and one particular flower relating to the locations of the characters. The colors are also based off the flowers.
BOOK COVERS
Included in these images are the final covers of the four books. A pair of jeans is placed with the book to further emphasize the content of the series. On the cover is an illustrated angle of a back pocket, with a different flower placed within the pocket. A full image of the jeans are placed on the binding side of the book. The typeface chosen was also used to relate to the younger generation, but also take into consideration the old and memorable elements of the original covers.
